No Homework Weekend?

So, we’ve all worked out that No Homework Weekend is not really what it says. What it really means is “No Homework Due Monday Weekend.” Why do I say it’s called this? Because ... the problem with No Homework Weekend is that the teachers can just as easily assign their homework to be due Tuesday (or, if the class is dropped on Monday or Tuesday, Wednesday) and force their poor students to do the work over the weekend anyways. Why’s that, you ask? Because they assign the same amount of homework.
It’s a loophole people, a loophole that needs to be thoroughly and utterly QUASHED. When I hear “No Homework Weekend,” I don’t want it to be “Your Work’s Due Tuesday Weekend” or “Delayed Due-Date Homework Weekend.” NO!

I want “No Homework Weekend”! That means this :
- No assigning homework on Friday (or Thursday, if you drop Friday)!
- On Monday (or Tuesday, as it were), only assign what would be the rough equivalent of a weeknight’s homework!
- For the love of all that is good in this world, do NOT have a test on Tuesday/Wednesday! Does anybody realize what kind of torture that is!?
The only teacher I’ve seen NOT exploiting this loophole thus far this year is ..... I won’t say it.
This loophole must be stopped. The wording needs to be fixed. Purify “No Homework Weekend” and make it as it should be!
