Diversity Day

Wednesday, February 16th was Brentwood's Diversity Day.
Speakers came from all over the nation to talk to students about the importance of acceptance and an open mind.
Kip Fulbeck was a personal favorite. After listening to his riveting speech and observing his passion for individual stories, I was inspired to question my own race labels and day-to-day reasoning. What is it that defines us? Do the judgements we place on others have a negative or positive effect? And most importantly, what can we do to foster a love of humanity in others? His books; Hapa, Mixed, and Permanence, will be available for purchase in the UD bookstore next week.
