From the Interact Club

Did you know that slavery is still present in the world?

Not only is it present in the world, but also in the place we live, the United States.  Many feel like slavery has already been dealt with and that there are laws against it that have already been made, so there is nothing else that we can do.  That is where the majority of people guess wrong.  Awareness is the first place to start in dealing with this issue.  If everyone spreads the word that slavery still exists, we can tackle modern-day slavery and abolish it for good.  Next, how can we raise awareness in and outside of the Brentwood School community?   Well, the Brentwood School Interact Club of '09-'10 has come up with a plan.  Split up into three groups, the club has taken on three distinct ways to help spread information by using the internet.  One group has a 'twitter': slavery123.  Another has a Facebook page: Breaking the chains and the last has a blog: http://SlaveryAbolishment.blogspot.com.  I know that the majority of you have a Facebook, or a twitter and that you spend a lot of time on the internet every day.  If you could just follow us on twitter,  become a member of our Facebook group and/or follow the blog, you help a lot.  What is included in all of these projects is more information and facts about what the details of modern-day slavery entail. Please help us out, and keep innocent people from being coerced into labor!
