Last week Apple released their supposedly revolutionary, new product, iPad. I don’t know the exact dimensions of the iPad, but essentially it is a 9 in by 3 in, super-thin, and essentially, a large iPod Touch. Frankly, I do not understand all the buzz around this new Apple item. Many people are excited by the fact that it can store electronic books on it. However, the Amazon Kindle does the exact same thing for several hundred dollars less. Other people are entranced by its touch keyboard, but this keyboard is totally worthless because the iPad does not even have Microsoft Word on it, although, there are swirling rumors that Word will come out for this product by June 2010. Yet still, if a person has a computer, a laptop, or an iPod Touch, there is no reason to buy the iPad. The iPad is too awkwardly large to carry around, thus it must stay at home. However, while at home, wouldn’t you rather use your laptop or computer which can do all the things an iPad can do but with a better internet connection? I’m a huge Apple fan. I have an iPhone, a Mac desktop computer, and a Mac laptop, but I truly think Steve can and can do better than the iPad.
